Kuala Lumpur to Singapore by Luxury Bus
I’m leaving for Singapore to take a very short break (1 night’s stay). Buses seems to be the cheapest mode of transporting myself over the straits into Singapore and back.
There are several bus companies that provide transportation between the 2 countries but here, I’ve listed only 2; Nice and Aeroline. These 2 companies seem to specialize in the KUL-SIN sector. Both companies provides 2 types of luxury bus. The first is a double-decker bus and the other a single deck bus. Both types of bus carries approximately 28 passengers which means that you can be assured of spacious and comfortable seats.
If you are in Kuala Lumpur, you can opt to purchase a to and fro ticket which works out to be cheaper compared to purchasing a return ticket from Singapore. The cost of the ticket is RM80 (US$21.65) per passenger per trip. For more information:

Dear Sirs/Madam,
We are planning on a group travel (20 person), and we would like to
enquire regarding coach fare from Singapore to Genting.
The schedules are probably around Mid of May 2007. Also please advise if
any special package (hotels, etc) offered at that time.
Thanks,
Indry

Hi indry,
Thanks for stopping by. Group travel sounds fun and more so if you are going up to Genting.
As for your inquiry on coach fare from Singapore to Genting, here are some options for you to move forward in your planning:
1. Take Transtar’s Coach Tour Package 2D1N or 3D2N for S$79 & S$108 respectively.
2. Take Transtar’s Bus only for S$40 (26 seater) or S$68 (1st Class). Note that this price is one way only.
3. Charter a bus from Genting themselves. Trip from Genting to Singapore on a 26 seater will cost RM1900 (approximately S$833). I’m not sure if Genting start their journey from Singapore. Your best bet is to contact Genting Transport directly: Tel: (603)-62518398 or (603)-62531762
Some links for your planning:

2. Genting - http://www.genting.com.my/en/eg/g_there/coach_rates.htm
Good luck and enjoy your trip.

Hi Claire,
Typically it would take somewhere between 5 to 6 hours for a bus to reach KL from Singapore; which largely depends on the number of stops the bus takes and the speed the driver is at.
From my own experience, I reached Singapore shores (immigration complex) from KL in a little over 4 hours. That’s quick for me…
