Belkin F5D7632-4 Horrors
I am starting to really regret my decision to purchase the Belkin ADSL2+ Wireless Router. While it cost me RM240 (US$70), it has cost me countless hours in frustration. The worst this wretched router has inflicted on me is the constant freezing of connections. While you are happily surfing away on the Internet, it suddenly decided to freeze the traffic juice and your page hangs there for no reason whatsoever.
Rebooting the router works only for while before that horrible router start acting up again. I thought that the firmware could be an issue since the one listed on my router said 6.01.06 (Jun 7 2006 20:25:29); well over a year ago. Guess what, when I searched on Belkin’s site, the darn router model does not even turn up. There is no such listing in Belkin support.
My last resort (I thought), I turned to Google in search for answers and gosh!, I’m surprised by the sheer number of customers experiencing the horrors of Belkin F5D7632-4. All of them had their own little stories to tell. Fortunately for them, they have money back guarantee, unlike Bolehland. Some blame it on the firmware and others blame it on Bit Torrents. I really have no idea but I’m starting to hate Belkin products. I chose Belkin because of the strong branding and I assumed that would translate to superior products and services. How wrong I was.
Since today is a public holiday in Malaysia, I’ll have to wait till tomorrow before I can call Belkin’s technical support. Tomorrow, the poor soul over the other line is going to get my hours and hours of frustration unloaded directed into his/her earlobe.

I’ve always opt for D-Link whenever it comes to networking product such as Wireless USB Connector and router, so far I have no complain… In fact I only log on to the administrator console on my router 4 times for 3 years! I check yesterday and I am shocked myself.

Like you said, it might be that particular model. I have no problem with my Belkin.
Mine did conked out once but Belkin has lifetime warranty so, I was replaced with another one.
Good luck tomorrow.

@Jackson, I’m thinking of jumping ship. Dunno if I’m going to be able to return the goods or not.
@helen & charmaine, lifetime warranty just makes the packaging looks good. It’s still a crappy Belkin inside.

That’s weird. My belkin is consistently giving me problems.
A call to their helpdesk and a firmware update later, things are the same.
The problems I face have not gone away..

Well, my office used it, my home used it, I recommended it to my friends to use it, all the while I don’t have problem in exchanging a new one, it happened a few times, lightning strike my home and office, I managed to changed it, but this time round, I talk to the stupid customer service dept, from a tol free number which he speaks english like his mouth is full of cotton, can’t even make out what he talk about, worst he asked me very stupid question, do you tested it with another modem to confirm is not the telephone problem and not the modem problem, hey come Belkin what a stupid question, how on earth I keep ready a second modem to test the line? Ha??? And I can’t continue with his questionaire because I can’t answer that stupid question.
Real stupid company asking stupid quetsion, a person with sane will not keep a second modem at home.

For those intend to buy new wireless router STAY AWAY FROM BELKIN don’t greedy because of the lifetime warranty, i really hv nightmare with this stupid idiot wireless router, first it always freeze my browser IE or firefox and this wireless router easily get hang and drop line. The most painful part is I hv to ON and OFF many times before it can connected to the net. The configuration shows CONNECTED but you can’t surf the net. I used to search images in google, previously when i use Telekom’s DSL modem all images loaded perfectly but now when i browse the page the router gets hung (all LED indicator stay still) and stop the page. Just get know so many negatives comment/review from the net after i bought it.
