Building Link Popularity

Smart and Intelligent TigerAs webmasters, we all know how important building link popularity is in order to rank high on SERPs (Search Engine Result Page). I’ve blogged earlier about a great article by Jim Westergren about the methods to build backlinks. Among some of the ways to build quality backlinks are (refer to Jim’s article for full explanation):

  • Link baiting
  • Directory submissions
  • 2 and 3 way exchanges
  • Link Vault
  • Digitalpoint’s Coop
  • Article Submission

Those of us who are seasoned webmasters and have been long enough in the webmastering industry, would swear by the tediousness of building your own backlinks. I just cannot see myself submitting my new site to 500 directories or writing to various other webmasters requesting for a link exchange. Time and effort is of the essense here; thank goodness we have a reliable solution here.

Jim Westergren announced in his blog recently that he has released his smart link building services. For those of us who do not know Jim, he is the CEO if SEO Fusion and a philosophical sci-fi writer who is based in Sweden and have over 40 web sites.

Make the smart move to have Jim take over the pain and nitty-gritty details to build quality links for your websites. Don’t forget to read what and how he conducts his smart link building campaigns.

Making the Right Choice for Party Wines

Pouring Wine into a GlassI will be throwing a party to a large group of friends this coming weekend. Food has been catered and paid for, beers and liquors have been stocked up. I’m expecting about 100 people to come to the party and with such a large group, I’m sure that there’s going to be some who dislike beer or liquor. There’s this little craze now that wine should be included not only in dinners but in parties as well. All these hype about wine-is-good-for-the-heart is making headways here in Asia.

I’m not a wine person and therefore consulted an acquaintance of mine whose father distributes wines around the country (yeah, you bet, I did ask for a discount). From the consultation, I’ve learned that Australian wines are the best to suit all kinds of taste buds. I’m not sure how far it’s true but nonetheless, I’m going to give it a go.

Did a little search on the Internet and found this Home and Living site which has a good and quick guide about Australian wines. It was this statement that made me decide to go on Australian wines and I quote:

Australian wine does not only compliment most meals in perfect harmony but also make an excellent after dinner drink with a cheese plate.

How to Add Social Bookmarks in WordPress

Social BookmarksSocial bookmarks such as del.icio.us, my Yahoo, Furl, Digg, Fark and a whole load of others are beginning to get hot among Internet users. This growth has raised an eyebrow or two in the webmastering world because many webmasters have reported that they are getting more traffic from social bookmarks. This is possible because social bookmarks are shared among families and friends as well as friends of friends and friends and families (I could go on and on.)

In order for you to benefit from the social bookmarking phenomenon, you must first make it easy for your readers to do so. One of the simplest methods is to add a plugin called Sociable and activate it which proves to be a breeze when I did it on this blog.

All you need to do is download the plugin and save it in your Wordpress plugin folder. Then, access your blog’s dashboard, click on Plugins menu and click on Activate.

Customizing the desired social bookmarks is equally simple. To do so, at the Wordpress Dashboard, click on Options, and then Sociable. Simply check and uncheck the various social bookmarks and save your settings. From now on, all your posts will be appended with the configured social bookmarks that you have selected earlier.

May your blog prosper from higher traffic.
