Today marks the day of my son’s very first outing to the [tag]cinema[/tag]. My son has always been afraid of loud noises and crowds but he was totally cool about the cinema. Maybe it was the many kids that joined him on that day or maybe it he was getting used to noise at his age of 4. Had bought him popcorns, Coke and a momento keychain in the form of a steering wheel.
The [tag]movie Cars[/tag] was totally enjoyable except for parts where my son could not understand the conversation and started bombarding me with question. It was really tough trying to
[1] answer the never-ending questions
[2] keep his voice down
[3] keep track of the movie
The solution to all that is: feed him with popcorn and Coke.
The character of [tag]Cars[/tag] were awesome and somewhat touching. This movie has really brought out the kid in me. For once, daddy and son were peers.

Google Labs has just released Google Spreadsheets (I’ll call it GSpread henceforth) for beta testing. With Google behind this product, I jumped at the opportunity to sign up for an invitation.
GSpread being a web-based application is an alternative to desktop based spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel or Open Office’s Calc. GSpread is free to use but you will need to have an Internet access. If you require an offline copy of your spreadsheets, you can either download it as a comma separated value (CSV) or as an Excel (XLS) file.
I obtained my GSpread invitation from Google approximately 8 hours after signing up. I immediately accessed GSpread and did a quick test run. As you can see from the inset picture, GSpread has all the basic functionalities built into it. There are no macros or charts available but I love the idea that my spreadsheets will travel with me wherever I go (provided there is an Internet access, of course).
If you so wish to share your spreadsheets, you can do so by simply specifying the email address of the intended recipient. Collaborations of spreadsheets are made easier as Google has built in a chat function too. I need not worry about hard drive crashes or power blackouts as Google stores the files for me. Talk about free!
Now, GSpread is released as a limited test application, meaning that it can handle only a limited number of users. If you want to test drive Google Spreadsheets, click here, quick!

Seasoned webmasters will tell you the importance of backlinks in order for your site to grow it’s popularity and “trust” among the search engines. To put it simply, backlinks are HTML links pointing to your site. The more backlinks your site has, the higher your level of trust your site will gain from the major search engines. The higher level of trust, the higher your site will be placed in search engine result pages (SERPs).
Do you want to achieve higher SERPs? Do you want traffic from search engines? Are you ready to start building your backlinks? I’m sure you do. Usually, a SEO company will charge you for their consultancy and services in relation to building your sites’ backlinks. However, scouring the Internet will yield you bits and pieces of information on building backlink methods. I found a nice site by Jim Westergren and in particular a single blog post that tie all these information together. Jim calls this his link building guide, which is probably the most complete, easy-to-read guide on building backlinks.
Jim not only wrote about the methods to build link but also the dos and don’ts. Make sure you pay attention to the don’ts. I hope you enjoy the guide as much as i did. I’ve bookmarked the article it for my future reference. Have you?
