3 Character Domain Name Values

Dot ComIt’s nice to see owners trading their 3 charater domain names as buyers will lowball the values and owners claiming much much higher values. I have always wondered if there was a “standard” pricing guide that is used to value these domain names.

Little did I know until a fellow webmaster pointed out to me that there is indeed a “standard” guide. You can access the price guide here. This is strictly a guide and not to be used when bidding for dictionary words. The guide provides a combination of domain names in either letters or numbers or a combination of both.

As I have mentioned before, this guide is to be used as a reference only. E.g. The guide says that 3 letter domains are valued at about US$1,550. You most probably won’t get ASS.COM for US$15,550 let alone US$1,550.

Baby Diaper Rash Remedy

Baby Recently, I noticed that my month old child has developed red spots and red rashes around his thighs, groin and waist especially around the edges of the diapers. Very much like red blotches and bumps. My wife and I thought that the rash was due to the weather but we noticed that the other parts of the baby’s body was fine. We then concluded that the rash was caused by diapers.

Diaper rash is one of the most common conditions of rashes among infants and babies. It is caused by the moist condition, urine and faeces which irritates the skin. Armed with this knowledge, we went to consult some of our more experienced friends, their mothers and their mothers’ mothers.

Drapolene CreamWe received a number of advice from these “experts” ranging from using nappies instead of diapers to feeding the child with pearl powder. Finally, my wife and I decided to go the “easy” way which is to buy a tube of Drapolene Cream. The reasons for us is simple. We needed something that is practical, easy to use, effective and less of a hassle. Another important reason we chose this product is due to the manufacturer; i.e. GlaxoSmithKline (we trust this brand).

After applying the Drapolene Cream twice on my baby’s affected areas, the rashes went as quickly as they came. We now apply the cream every time we change the diapers. The rashes mysteriously never came back.

Streamyx Spam and Virus Control

TelephoneToday, I received a call from an out-of-state buddy who is complaining of receiving spam and viruses on his Streamyx broadband account. This was how the conversation went:

Buddy: Good morning, Amos.
Amos: Yo, buddy. What’s happening?
Buddy: Nothing really. Just called to ask you a question.
Amos: Sure. Shoot.
Buddy: I’ve been receiving lots of spam and virus emails lately. I’m sick and tired of receiving this. What can I do?
Amos: What email software or system are you using?
Buddy: Using the basic TMNet Streamyx email account.
Amos: Yikes! I don’t use that service but I sure can check out a solution for you.
<insert random chatters, gossips, swear words here>
Buddy: Nice talking to you. Thanks for the help.
Amos: Anytime. Bye!

I found the cheapest solution from none other than TMNet themselves.

Great news to all TMNet customers who are using the 1515, 1525 and Streamyx services who want to protect their email accounts from spam and viruses. TMNet has a value-added package called Virus Shield & Anti Spamming solution for its customers. Packaged at only RM2.00 per month, the system will now scan for viruses and spams at TMNet’s server before delivering to your mailbox.

Bye-bye spam. Bye-bye virus. Buddy, I hope this helped.
